Used the day it arrived and now I regret not using their walnut oil on my wood stuff before. I will re-order and keep using. The walnut oil works great, it makes my wood turnings better looking, and stronger. I will be using walnut oil as long as I am turning wood, and will always purchase it from Chalk Mountain.Having gone through gallons of walnut oil in the last year alone, I can honestly say that this is by far the best I've used. Unlike most bulk walnut oil, this one is not bleached or deodorized, thus the color and aroma remains intact and the resulting finish is deep and rich in color. As long as your wood is properly dried, absorption is quick and you only need a few light applications.I've used this oil as both a standalone and in a custom wood butter blend to finish off a number of pieces where I want the natural look of the wood to be the central focus.I've applied to walnut, cherry, red/white oak, hard/soft/tiger maple, and purpleheart. In the photo, you'll see a few segments -- the bottom is walnut, the top (lighter) is cherry. My only wish is that this was available in 64-128oz jugs -- the 32oz bottles are too small and can be costly if you're using this often.I really like this product. I used the 32oz to finish a large island and was able to get 4 coats out of the bottle. Follow the directions....apply a heavy coat and let it rest 12 hours. The wood will drink it up. I used an organic staining process with coffee, the walnut oil added a fabulous depth to the coffee color. I finished with a beeswax buff.I've seen reviews on this and similar products indicating odd smells or seepage. I've had zero issues.I would absolutely use this again.Works great and looks great.I have used walnut oil on meny of my wood turning projects. This is my second purchase of this product and have been very happy.I have used this on my knives and cutting boards and am very pleased with the results. It does darken the wood a lot but that doesn't bother me as long as the wood is being protected. Planning to do all of the handles on our kitchen utensils.I'm a woodworker. At times I need a great oil that is food grade safe. This is the best oil I have used. I built cutting boards out of Walnut so it makes extra sense to use Walnut Oil. It does a great job showing my grains off and preserving my boards. I love it!
