I ordered a set to test with for my upcoming wedding. I had no issues with quality at all. They look and feel great and have been holding up well with dinner. For me personally, it's important that we have environmentally-friendly, economical tablewear that doesn't compromise on style. After doing some research, I decided on these plates. There was no expectation that all plates would look exactly the same. We've all seen leaves, right? It's not currently hurricane or monsoon season so I wasn't worried about moisture, mold or anything else that would normally affect natural/wood materials, including these plates. It will be incredibly humid around the time of the wedding. Knowing how these plates are made, what they are made out of and the climate where they are typically produced and stored, I will do the logical thing and order more than I need.I would definitely be upset if the plates were actually moldy and required returning but judging from the pictures in *most* of the reviews, there isn't much to be worried about. One reviewer was upset about the few inch variation in half of the plates! :) In the age of Amazon and Yelp, reviews are aplenty but not all can be trusted. These are great plates, they hold up to steak juice and knives as well as anything I can throw at them. Definitely not washable but the best disposable plate I've used by farUsed these for our wedding reception - we wanted to have a sustainable event that was as environmentally friendly as possible. These were perfect and looked great. Guests may not have realized that they were compostable, but regardless they looked awesome and held up really well. And we felt good knowing we weren’t using plastic! Each plate has a different, natural pattern to them, which we loved. We tested them on a few diff types of food at home first to make sure they didn’t leak, etc. - at the wedding we served chicken (that had a sauce on it), salad, cheesey gratin potatoes, etc. and has zero problems w durablility of any sort. They can withstand and type of food from what I can tell - Would definitely purchase again.I just love these! Some of them are less attractive than others (it's a natural product, obviously they won't all be uniform) but it was so worth it. We used them for our wedding, and had several left over to reuse for a cookout a few weeks later. It was so wonderful to just throw the plates into the fire pit, instead of hauling bulky trash bags out of our house and contributing to the land fill. They are very sturdy, I didn't have any issue with leakage (even the collards and saucy barbecue didn't soak through when the plates were left out for some time) or breakage. I can look past a few "ugly" plates in the bunch for such an economical and environmental choice. I cant say for certain, but I did shop around for a good while comparing costs of palm leaf plates and other similar materials, and I believe CaterEco was the best price I found. We used these plates for two catered events this weekend. The plates are strong, and each is slightly unique with beautiful natural patterns. We got a lot of compliments from guests!I was concerned looking at other reviews about whether the plated would get soggy after a while but this was not an issue at all. We served pastas, salads and desserts with sauces on the plates, and there were absolutely no problems. (In fact, a week before the event, I poured tomato sauce and cream sauce and salad dressing all over some test plates and let them sit in my kitchen. The bottoms got slightly flexible after about 6 hours but never leaked. I decided six hours was quite long enough, so I stopped the experiment at that point.)We will definitely be using these plates at every future event!I generally do not like to use anything other than regular dinnerware, but since a had a larger crowd and it was a cook out decided to be different. I ordered these plates, which are more expensive than regular high quality paper plates but so so happy with them, I will most certainly order again. Everyone commented on them plus they were sturdy to hold up under pulled pork, baked beans, salad, potato salad just to name a few items. The smaller ones again great for cake and ice cream!I went back and forth on disposable plates for my upcoming garden wedding. I love the look of the palm leaf plates, and they did not disappoint when they arrived. Just as other reviews have stated, some plates are definitely prettier than others, and some even appeared to have dirt on them, but I still love the organic feel and look of them! We ordered 200 plates total (dinner and dessert plates) and only one is unusable (because it is broken). I am just excited to use them at my wedding in two weeks. These were the highlight of my wedding.
